Peter Sarno (born July 26, 1979 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HC Alleghe from the A1 series .
Career
Sarno began his career in 1996 with the Windsor Spitfires in the Canadian Junior League OHL with the Windsor Spitfires, where he was top scorer of the team in his first year with 83 points from 66 games. Then some were NHL - Scouts to the Center Attentive , eventually in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 by the Edmonton Oilers was selected in the sixth round of a total of 141. point.
Then Sarno moved to the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League , but at the beginning of the 1998/99 season also played again in the OHL for the Sarnia Sting . There he showed again good performances and scored 130 points scorer in 68 games, in addition he had a plus / minus statistic of +32. Finally, the then 23-year-old Sarno decided to work in Europe with the famous Finnish club Espoo Blues .
The Canadian stayed there for only one season, however, as he again signed a contract with the Edmonton Oilers after a good season in the SM-liiga . However, the attacker could not prevail again and ended up with only six games for the Oilers, in which he could only score one goal.
After another three years in the American Hockey League, Sarno moved to the Swiss club HC Friborg-Gottéron in 2006 . The Hamburg Freezers noticed him there and had him observed a few times until they were able to bring him to the Elbe for the 2007/08 season . In Hamburg , the Canadian was able to develop into one of the undisputed top performers and scored 74 points in 56 games for the Freezers in his first season, making him the third-best scorer of the 2007/08 season. After the 2008/09 season he moved to league rivals Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg . After a solid season, he left the club and returned to Switzerland, where he signed a contract with the Lausanne Hockey Club in December 2010 . After only two games in the National League B, the Canadian moved to Italy in January 2011 and Sarno signed a contract with HC Alleghe in Serie A1 .
