Pfaffendorf is a village in Upper Styria and a locality and cadastral community of the market town of Kammern in Liesingtal in the Leoben district of Styria .

geography

The place is located about 12½ kilometers west of Leoben and is 2 km east of the community capital Kammern. It is located in the middle of the Liesingtal , to the right south of the Liesing , at 640  m above sea level. A. To the south, the Pyhrn motorway A 9 passes .

The village has almost 20 buildings with around 70 residents.
The village itself does not include any other locations, the cadastral municipality also includes the Liesing and Wolfgruben villages downstream, as well as the addresses on the left bank of Mötschendorf . The cadastral area covers about 725  hectares , and extends on the Liesing from a little below Unterdorf to the municipal boundary between Mötschendorf and Timmersdorf , and southwards into the eastern foothills of the Seckauer Tauern to Steineck  ( 1297  m above sea level ), Lärchkogel and around Antoniwand  ( 1008  m above sea level ), which includes the trenches of the Kammersbach , the Steineckbach and Klammbach , and the Mötschendorfer Brunnbach .

history

The municipality of Kammern was founded in 1850 as an independent administrative unit and also included the area of ​​the cadastral municipality of Pfaffendorf. When Kammern in Liesingtal was devastated by a conflagration during a storm on March 28, 1874, burning wooden shingles were carried as far as Pfaffendorf.
