Pierluigi Gollini (born March 18, 1995 in Bologna ) is an Italian football goalkeeper .

Career

In the club

Gollini left the youth of SPAL Ferrara after just one year in 2010 for Tuscany , where he found accommodation with Fiorentina . He didn't stay long with Fiorentina either. In March 2012 he moved to England for record champions Manchester United , where he spent the remainder of his June period. With no prospects for the Red Devils , he returned to Italy in 2014 and joined Hellas Verona , where he was used early in the 2014/15 season : He made his Serie A debut on September 24, 2014 at 2-2 -Remis against the CFC Genoa . After another game in September, he came only one more time during the season and spent most of the season on the bench.

Even at the beginning of the 2015/16 season , Gollini only rarely played. Towards the end of the year, however, he prevailed and achieved the regular place in the gate of Hellas. In July 2016, Gollini moved to Aston Villa and immediately became a regular goalkeeper. However, in January 2017 it was awarded to Atalanta Bergamo .

In the national team

From 2012 to 2017 Gollini played for various junior selections in Italy. In May 2017 he was nominated by national coach Gian Piero Ventura for a friendly match between Italy and San Marino , but he was not used. It has not been taken into account since then. On November 15, 2019, he made his first international match in the European Championship qualifier against the team from Bosnia-Herzegovina when he came on for Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 88th minute .
