In the Salbuch from 1629 three properties are mentioned, two of which belong to the Windberg Monastery and one property belonging to the Hofmark Pürgl . The Bavarian cadastre shows in the 1810s as Pillersberg a hamlet consisting of three farmsteads with stately farm areas that were not sprawled by inheritance. In the register of the Diocese of Regensburg, four houses with 34 souls are mentioned for 1835. The 1885 census identified seven residential buildings and 53 residents. In 1987 the hamlet had 30 inhabitants, nine buildings with living space and twelve apartments.

A residential stable house in Pillersberg 2 and a remote farm in Pillersberg 8 have been preserved in the historical building fabric and are protected as monuments .

Pillersberg was originally part of the municipality of Elisabethszell , which was incorporated into Haibach on January 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
