The Presidium Technology, Logistics, Police Service (PTLS Pol) with its headquarters in Stuttgart has been the central service provider for the Baden-Württemberg police since January 1, 2014 . The areas of responsibility are administrative tasks, information, communication and operational technology, the police medical service and the Baden-Württemberg State Police Orchestra .

The PTLS Pol is divided into five departments in addition to the management area. The management area consists of the police president , the presidential staff with the state police orchestra and the information security and central time management units . Another important component of the PTLS Pol is project work in a wide variety of project groups. The presidium has a staff of approx. 330 police officers and approx. 520 in non-execution.

Department 1 - Central Services

The Central Services department performs service tasks for the entire Baden-Württemberg police force and the Presidium itself. The police registration office is one focus. The tasks also include the management of all police investment funds, the property management of the Presidium's locations as well as personnel administration including training and further education.

The information technology department bears the technical responsibility for the IT applications of the police, defines their standards and guarantees the technical implementation of technical requirements, the planning and the control of requirements. In addition, together with the BITBW, it is responsible for the police network, provides competent user support and coordinates cooperation with other federal states.

Department 3 - Communication Technology

The responsibility of the communication technology department includes digital radio, control center technology and other areas of communication technology, such as telephone systems and image transmission. For these areas, she takes on the coordination and procurement of the required equipment and services, the (around-the-clock) security of operations (digital radio and control centers) and the state and national committee work.

Department 4 - operational technology

The operational technology department is responsible for the assessment of needs, the strategic planning and the procurement of the command and operational resources for the police force (vehicles, radio, technical equipment, weapons, ...) as well as for ensuring the functionality of these operational resources. For this purpose, the regional technology locations (workshops) are distributed in Baden-Württemberg.

Department 5 - Police Medical Service, Medical Service and Occupational Safety

The Police Medical Service is responsible for the medical concerns of all police employees. That can be B. screening examinations for applicants, curative care of the trainees, public medical examinations, healing and rehabilitation procedures, questions about medical care or company medicine. The police medical service also takes on the medical care of the emergency services during operations and major police events. Basic occupational safety issues are dealt with by the chief occupational safety officer.

State Police Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg

The State Police Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg is part of the police public relations and musical ambassador of the police. The professional orchestra appears in the classical line-up with brass and woodwinds and a percussion group. However, ensembles or collaborations with many different individual musicians or music groups are also possible. The styles are very diverse and variable with classical music, symphonic brass music, swing and jazz, rock, pop and traditional brass music.
