Primera División (Argentina) 1971
The 1971 Primera División was 41 . Playing time of the Argentine football league Primera División . This was divided into two semi-annual championships, each of which produced an Argentinian champion. In the first half of the year the Torneo Metropolitano took place, the second half of the year was played in the Torneo Nacional. This mode was retained until 1985, when the way of playing in Europe was adapted and no longer played in the calendar year, but from summer to summer.
Torneo Metropolitano
The Torneo Metropolitano was played with nineteen participants who played against each other twice in the league system. It started on March 5th and ended on October 3rd, 1971.
At the end of the Torneo Metropolitano, CA Independiente was able to prevail and became Argentine football champions for the eighth time in the club's history.

Torneo Nacional
The Torneo Nacional was the second half-year championship. It began on October 8th and ended on December 29th, 1971. First, two groups were formed, the two best-ranked teams met in two semi-finals. The two finalists were determined from these semifinals. These were Rosario Central and CA San Lorenzo de Almagro in 1971 . Rosario Central was ultimately able to prevail in the final and win the Argentine championship title for the first time in the club's history.
