The 1965 Primera División was 35 . Playing time of the Argentine football league Primera División . The season had started on April 18, 1965. The last game day was December 14, 1965. CA Lanus and CA Platense from the Primera B Nacional were promoted. The Boca Juniors finished the season as champions and were able to confirm their previous year's success. They qualified as well as the second-placed River Plate for the Copa Libertadores 1966 , for which CA Independiente was also qualified, as they won the Libertadores Cup in 1965 . No teams had to relegate, as the league was expanded by two teams to twenty participants the following season.
