Qingcheng Mountain ( Qingcheng Shan )

The Qingcheng Shan ( Chinese  青城 山 , Pinyin Qīngchéng Shān ), also Mount Qingcheng , is a mountain in the area of Dujiangyan in the Chinese province of Sichuan . It is an important site of religious Daoism and one of its origins. There are many Taoist temples on the mountain. As one of the founding places of Daoism, the mountain with its temples was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000 .

Zhang practiced Daoling张道陵 in the Changdao Guan Temple ( Tempel 山 常 道 观) . The temple is therefore also called the Heavenly Master Grotto (Tianshidong 天师 洞) and is in the tradition of the Quanzhen school of Daoism.

The epicenter of the earthquake on May 12, 2008 was in the mountains of Qingcheng and destroyed almost all temples.
