Chengjiang

Chengjiang ( Chinese  澂 江 县 , Pinyin Chéngjiāng Xiàn ), sometimes also written with the characters 澄江 县, is a district in the east of the Chinese province of Yunnan . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Yuxi and is located north of Lake Fuxian . In 1999 it had 146,293 inhabitants.

Chengjiang fauna

Chengjiang is the site of a fossil fauna , the Chengjiang Fauna Community ( 澄江 动物 群 , Chéngjiāng dòngwùqún ), which was discovered in the shale of the Maotian Shan ( 帽 天山 ). The site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012 .

Administrative structure

At the community level, the district is made up of six large communities . These are:
