Quảng Ngãi is a coastal province in central Vietnam , 883 km south of Hà Nội and 838 km north of Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (Hồ Chí Minh City) . Quảng Ngãi has an area of 5177 km² and about 1.25 million inhabitants, of which around 10% live in the provincial capital Quảng Ngãi .
The province is bounded by mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The economic potential consists of agriculture and animal husbandry.
The climate is divided into two seasons, the temperature sometimes reaching up to 41 ° C in the hottest months.
Quảng Ngãi is known for the cultural remains of Sa Huynh , Chau-Sa Citadel, Ong Pagoda, Mai Son Pagoda and Ba Gia Battlefields.
In the north of Quảng Ngãi near Mỹ Lai (My Lai, pink ville ) in Sơn Tịnh County, one of the worst massacres of the Vietnam War took place on March 16, 1968 , the My Lai massacre .
