Réka Forika , born Réka Ferencz , (* 29. March 1989 in Gheorgheni , Harghita County ) is a Romanian biathlete from the Hungarian minority of Szekely .

Réka Ferencz is a student at a lyceum in Gheorgheni. She began biathlon in 2004, and the CSS Gheorgheni athlete has been a member of the Romanian national team since 2007 . In 2006 she made her international debut at the Junior European Championships in Langdorf and achieved the best results in 18th place in the pursuit and sixth in the relay race with Alina Babes and Emőke Szőcs . In the same year she also made her debut in the Junior European Cup. She took part in her first Junior World Championships in 2007 in Martell , where she was 12th in the relay and in the pursuit and 14th in the sprint and 35th in the individual. In 2007/08 she won three European Junior Cup races and was second twice. Also in 2007 Ferencz made her Biathlon World Cup debut in a relay race in Oberhof , which she finished in 13th on the side of Dana Plotogea , Éva Tófalvi and Mihaela Purdea . The next major event was the 2008 Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding with the results of seven in the individual, eight in the pursuit, six in the relay and 22 in the sprint. A little later, the European Junior Championships in Nové Město na Moravě went better . She was 16th in the individual and sprint and tenth in the pursuit. In the relay competition, she won the bronze medal with Babeş and Claudia Flanega. Also in 2009 Ferencz took part in the Junior World Championships in Canmore . The Romanian was 32nd in the individual and ninth in the relay and missed an individual medal by about ten seconds in fourth place behind Sophie Boilley . In the pursuit race she fell back to 12th place. At the 2009 European Junior Championships in Ufa she was ninth in the individual and won the bronze medal again as third place in the relay race with Luminița Pișcoran and Diana Mihalache . In Hochfilzen she ran her first sprint race in the World Cup in the 2009/10 season and was 113th. A week later she achieved her first place in the World Cup points as 37th of the individual in Pokljuka . In 2010, Réka Ferencz celebrated her first world title at the Junior World Championships in Torsby . Before Karolin Horchler from Germany, she won the individual competition. Réka Ferencz took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Her best result was 74th place in the individual. With the relay she finished 10th.

Réka Ferencz also starts in the summer biathlon. At the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2008 in Bansko , Ferencz won bronze in the mixed relay competition together with Simona Crăciun , Alexandru Tişcă and Claudiu Suciu . In 2009 she won bronze at the Junior World Championships in summer biathlon with Pișcoran, Stefan Gavrila and Roland Gerbacea in the mixed competition. She was also 27th in the sprint and 15th in the pursuit race. In 2010 she took part in the Summer European Championships and won the bronze medal in the mixed competition with the junior mixed relay of Romania on the side of Diana Mihalache , Remus Faur and Roland Gerbacea. She also finished 20th in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit.
