RTS 1 (until August 26, 2019 RTS Un ) is the first television broadcaster in French-speaking Switzerland ( Radio Télévision Suisse ).

history

The station began broadcasting under the name TSR on May 1, 1954. It kept this name until the launch of TSR 2, the second public television broadcaster in French-speaking Switzerland on November 1, 1997. On January 1, 2011, the two stations Télévision Suisse Romande and Radio Suisse Romande were merged to form the new Radio Télévision Suisse. However, the programs kept their old names until February 29, 2012. On this date TSR 1 was renamed RTS Un.

Interactive television

On March 5, 2013, SRG SSR will start test operations of HbbTV in Switzerland on the TV channels RTSun HD and RTSdeux HD under the name RTS + . The solution was developed by Swiss TXT . In addition to news as they are known from teletext, the offer also includes a video on demand component.
