Race07 is a racing game from the Swedish developer SimBin Studios , which has an official FIA license for the WTCC season 2006 and the season 2007. It is the sequel to Race - The WTCC Game .

Gameplay

The driving behavior in Race07 is designed for realism, a damage model is also included. The game contains over 300 vehicles in over ten classes, including touring cars, formula cars and sports cars. Races are held on 32 different racetracks, with dynamic weather changes. The content can be expanded with fan creations.

A special demo version of the game was released in March 2008, including the Vauxhall Vectra of the British Touring Car Championship BTCC , as well as the fictitious Crowne Plaza Raceway. This special content is now also available as an expansion for the main game.

Since 2008 there are two add-ons that can be played without owning Race07 and can therefore also be viewed as a stand-alone game. On the one hand GTR Evolution , which integrates a fictional GT series similar to the FIA GT championship and the implementation of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife into the game. Furthermore, SimBin has been offering the implementation of the 2008 season of the STCC (STCC - The Game) as a further add-on since April 2008 . A version for the Xbox 360 is also available in stores with Race Pro .

In October 2009 another add-on was released with Race On . The expansion is still based on Race07 and also includes the 2008 WTCC season, the Formula Masters and muscle cars. Race On is available both as an extension to Race07 or as a standalone game including Race07 and STCC - The Game.

In 2011, four more extensions, each containing new vehicles and routes, were published:

• GT Power Pack ( Pagani Zonda R , BMW M3 GT2 and Matech - Ford GT1 as well as Chayka and Mid Ohio )
• RETRO ( Volvo Amazon , Volvo P1800 ES , BMW 2002 , Mini Cooper S , Opel Commodore GS 3001 , BMW 3.0 CSL , Chevrolet Corvette and Chevrolet Camaro as well as Poznan and a hill climb track)
• STCC - The Game 2 (All vehicles and tracks of the STCC season 2010)
• WTCC 2010 (all vehicles and tracks of the WTCC season 2010 )

For the online game mode there was the possibility to follow the WTCC in 2008. The best drivers were invited to the routes where they could compete with the other drivers. There the best drivers made it through to compete against each other in the final in Monza (2008). The winner received a Chevrolet HHR 2LT (2008).

In addition to the SimBin extensions, there are many vehicle and track mods created by the community , for example the Porsche 997RSR vs. Ferrari F430- Addon, which complements the GTR Evolution with the two vehicles .
