The Peugeot 308 I is a compact car model by Peugeot that was produced between 2007 and 2015 . The Peugeot 3008 , Peugeot RCZ and Citroën C4 models are based on the same floor pan .
In 2009, the 308 CC was also presented, which is a coupé-convertible with an electro-hydraulically retractable metal roof.
General
The Peugeot 308 was officially presented in Barcelona on June 5, 2007 . Marketing began on September 20, 2007.
In connection with the 1.6 liter engine with 129 kW (175 PS) (THP 175), the 308 was equipped with a radiator grille insert with straighter lines in the front apron and some sportier elements.
The station wagon was launched in May 2008 as the 308 SW, which, like the 307 SW, was available with a panoramic glass roof. The Coupé-Cabriolet 308 CC was available from April 2009 and, like its predecessor, had a foldable steel roof.
Production of the three-door hatchback variant was discontinued in mid-2010.
The Peugeot 408 model, which has been in production since April 2010 and is only available in China, is a notchback version of the 308. In parallel, a 308 notchback has been available there since the beginning of 2012.
Motorization
The engines were four gasoline and three diesel engines. The gasoline engines are a 1.4-liter engine with 70 kW, a 1.6-l engine with 88 kW and two turbo engines, each with a displacement of 1.6 liters and 110 kW (103 kW in combination with a four-stage automatic) and 128 kW. For the diesel engines there was the 1.6 HDi with 66 kW and 80 kW and a 2.0-liter unit with 100 kW. When the model was launched, four of the seven engines were linked to a five-speed manual transmission, the two more powerful diesels and the most powerful Otto engine had six-speed transmissions. There was also a choice of a four-speed automatic for the 1.6-liter gasoline engines, a six-speed automatic with a manual shift gate for the 2.0-liter diesel engine and an electronically controlled 6-speed manual transmission ESG6 for the 80 kW Diesel. The use of twin-scroll turbochargers developed by BorgWarner Turbo Systems is unusual for this vehicle class . The torque values of gasoline engines from 103 kW thus achieve the typical pull-through characteristics of diesel engines.

308 CC
The 308 CC followed in April 2009 and is a four-seater coupé-convertible with an electro-hydraulically retractable metal roof. The convertible top opens and closes at the push of a button in 20 seconds and can be operated both when stationary and when driving at up to 12 km / h.
The front section of the CC is inspired by the 308 RCZ Concept and was also adopted from the Peugeot RCZ , which is also technically based on the 308. The rear is equipped with a split matt black diffuser and spoiler.
Due to the construction, the body of the CC is partly different and therefore longer and deeper than the normal 308. The total length is 4440 mm instead of 4276 mm and is only 1426 mm high instead of 1498 mm. The curb weight is also higher than in the 308 due to the complex roof construction and is 1555 kg. The trunk of the convertible has a reduced capacity; it is 226 liters with the top down and 403 liters with the top down.
Within a few milliseconds of detecting the risk of a rollover, retractable brackets behind the rear headrests in combination with the reinforced windshield pillars (designed for this purpose) form a safety cell. Each front seat is equipped with a chest / pelvic side airbag and, unique in the world for the 308 CC, with an additional head side airbag, which guarantees effective protection of all body parts regardless of the sitting position.
The Peugeot 308 CC received 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash test for "occupant safety for adults".
All models of the 308 CC are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard, which enables the driver to keep the vehicle in the lane even during emergency braking. The “emergency brake assistant” increases the effectiveness of the brakes if necessary. The electronic brake force distribution (EBV) regulates the brake pressure for each individual wheel. An electronic stability program (ESP) is also available.
With the so-called PEUGEOT Connect SOS , which is available in the 308 CC, Peugeot has made the emergency call services directly accessible. When the pyrotechnics of the seat belts or airbags are activated, the vehicle automatically sends an emergency call. PEUGEOT Connect SOS locates the car, establishes a telephone connection with the driver and calls for the appropriate emergency service, which is sent there. You can also call the service yourself if you are involved in an accident or witness an accident. This SOS service is currently available in ten European countries; expansion to 12 countries was planned for 2011.
The exclusive character of the 308 CC can also be seen in a comprehensive range of special components not found in the normal 308. The dashboard with white instead of black dials, for example, is reminiscent of the world of watchmaking. The original leather steering wheel with a flattened underside is adorned with a matt chrome ring, and the center console is coated with black high-gloss paint. The center console with integrated armrest contains all the special controls of the CC: control of the automatic folding roof, simultaneous operation of all four window lifters, "Airwave" settings for driver and front passenger as well as the settings menu for the satellite navigation system. Anyone who has ordered the navigation system can also watch the opening and closing of the roof as a small animation on the display.
"Airwave" is a system from Peugeot that uses warm air that flows out of the headrests of the front seats to create a heat cushion on the back of the head, in the neck and on the head itself. This "neck heating" is otherwise only available in the high-price segment. In combination with the automatic air conditioning, the heated front seats and the wind deflector, the Airwave system offers significantly more scope for open-top driving.
The full leather upholstery, which is subject to a surcharge, includes, in addition to the leather seats, a leather upholstery on the dashboard with high-quality stitching and the frames for the door panels and rear panels, as well as a U-shaped leather upholstery on the console in the same color as the dashboard.
The Peugeot 308 CC was initially offered with two different engines, a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a 2.0-liter HDi diesel engine. From July 2009, the newly revised 1.6-liter HDi diesel engine with 82 kW and the 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine with 110 kW were used. The petrol versions have a 5-speed manual gearbox in the VTi or 6-speed manual gearbox in the THP, and there is an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox for the 110 kW version. The two diesel versions are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 6-speed automatic transmission is optionally available for the 2.0-liter version.
The 1.6 THP was revised in May 2010 and has been producing 115 kW since then. In October 2010, the 147 kW version of the 1.6-liter turbo and a 120 kW 2.0-liter diesel engine followed. Both of the latter are also used in the Peugeot RCZ .

In March 2015, the CC was also discontinued as the last model of the first 308 generation. A successor is initially not planned as part of the brand strategy, which provides for a reduction in the model range.
Facelift
2009
In March the 308 was technically revised. The design remained unchanged. Since then, the 2.0 HDi FAP engine has developed 103 kW (140 hp) and complies with the Euro 5 emissions standard. Furthermore, the average consumption was reduced to 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers; in doing so, it now emits 139 g of CO 2 per kilometer. The 308 SW HDi FAP 110 with 80 kW (109 PS) now emits 130 g instead of 134 g of CO 2 per kilometer. This is due to the use of low-friction tires. The 110 kW (150 PS) 1.6-150 THP engine consumes 7.0 liters per 100 kilometers due to a new six-speed manual transmission and low-friction tires after the facelift. In addition, there is now also a new navigation system in the option list, which costs € 950.
2011
The revised Peugeot 308 made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It was available in stores from May 7, 2011.
To the left and right of the new radiator grille there are now the parking lights and curved daytime running lights with LED technology as well as the fog lights. The 308 also had new clear-glass headlights.
At the stern, however, little had happened. The compact car got an additional chrome strip, the station wagon SW and the coupé-cabriolet CC, which also got the new front, remained almost unchanged in the rear view. There were also only detail improvements in the interior.
The engine range was extended by a more economical unit: The 1.6 e-HDi Peugeot celebrated its premiere (at Citroën to have some time) only just in the Peugeot 508 I . The output remained at 82 kW (112 hp). In contrast to the 508, it was also available with a manual gearshift and only optionally coupled with the ESG automated manual transmission. Although this brought about a loss of comfort, it should be better than the handset in terms of efficiency. Together with the automatic stop-start system, the 308 e-HDI ESG achieved a consumption value of 3.7 liters per 100 kilometers according to the NEDC . With a manual transmission, the engine consumes 0.2 l more diesel over the same distance - and is therefore no longer below the 100 gram CO 2 mark, which the ESG version can undercut with 98 grams CO 2 per kilometer.
Prices (as of December 2011) for the five-door model now started at € 17,050. The SW was available from € 18,250 and the Coupé-Cabriolet was at least € 25,950.
In September 2013, the successor of the same name came onto the market as a hatchback sedan, which is only available with five doors. The SW combined variant followed in May 2014.
