history

Ratmaringhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1241. In the course of the story there are different spellings of the place name . The known documentary evidence are:

  • Rathmarinchusen (1241) [Bredelar monastery documents, p. 58, no. 34]
  • Ratmerinchusen (1355) [Bredelar monastery documents, p. 175, no. 308]

In 1355 "the von Scharfenberg" sold their estate in Ratmaringhausen to the Bredelar monastery . In 1526 the Counts of Waldeck left a meadow in "Radmeringhausen" to the Bredelar Monastery. In 1376 Johann von Padberg pledged a quarter of the tithe to the Bredelar monastery. In 1510 and 1537 the Counts of Waldeck and the Lords of Padberg each owned half of the tithe.

In 1825, Varnhagen named a mill at “Ratmerckusen between Heringhausen and Gieberinghausen : The Giebering houses still give ratmaring houses and wooden houses tithes today and Ratmaringhausen will therefore be next to Holzhausen . The mill at Rattmigkhausen or Ratmigkusen occurs in 1637. It stands at the Dimel, towards Heringhausen and is the Heringhäusermühle. "
