Career
Sports background / beginnings
Levy was into bodybuilding and weightlifting in his youth . He started wrestling in 1988. Initially, he was Scotty the Body in various regional leagues in Memphis , Vancouver and Portland . At Pacific Northwest Wrestling he was allowed to win all titles held there. In the Texas Promotion Global Wrestling Federation , Levy played his first televised matches under the ring name Scotty Anthony .
World Championship Wrestling / Extreme Championship Wrestling
As Scotty Flamingo , Levy joined World Championship Wrestling in 1992 . There he was allowed to win the short-lived WCW Light Heavyweight Championship from Brian Pillman , but had to lose it to Brad Armstrong after two weeks . In addition to Pillman and Armstrong , he also feuded Johnny B. Badd .
In early 1993 Levy moved to the World Wrestling Federation . There he appeared as a manager under the name of Johnny Polo . Adam Bomb and tag team The Quebecers ( Jacques and Pierre ) were among his protégés . Levy hardly played any matches at the time, but was allowed to defeat former Intercontinental Champion Marty Jannetty . He also worked behind the scenes and as a commentator for the WWF. Due to his very rare active appearances in the ring, Levy left the WWF in 1994.
In 1995 Levy moved to Extreme Championship Wrestling . Under his new ring name Raven , he represented the dark side of human characteristics. He feuded against Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman , among others . He was allowed to form the stable "Raven's Nest", to which z. B. Stevie Richards , Cactus Jack and Super Nova (Mike Bucci) included.
During his time at ECW Levy was allowed to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship twice . In January 1996 he was allowed to win the Sandman title. After he had to give up the title, he was allowed to win it again in December, then had to give it up to Terry Funk in April 1997 .
In mid-1997 he signed a lucrative contract with World Championship Wrestling . There he was allowed to form the stable called "Raven's Flock". This included Billy Kidman , Van Hammer (Mark Hildreth) and Perry Saturn , among others .
Levy was allowed to win the WCW United States Championship from Diamond Dallas Page on April 19, 1998 . But the very next evening he had to hand this title over to Bill Goldberg . The lack of success, as well as the questionable creative development of the WCW over the following months, moved Scott Levy to agree to a termination of his contract in 1999.
Scott Levy returned to ECW in August 1999 and was allowed to win the ECW Tag Team Championship with Tommy Dreamer from the Dudley Boyz and held the title for over three months. This was followed by a brief feud against Dreamer, in the course of which Mike Alfonso ("Mike Awesome") and he were allowed to win the titles of Dreamer and Masato Tanaka , but had to give them to Lance Storm and Justin Credible after a week . Levy then rarely appeared on the ECW shows and eventually left the promotion before his one-year contract expired.
World Wrestling Federation / NWA Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
After moving to WWF in September, he was able to win Steve Blackman's WWF Hardcore Championship for the first time in December . This title win was followed by 26 more, which makes him by far the regent with the most frequent title wins. After 2002 still in RAW - Roster of now in World Wrestling Entertainment occurred renamed doctorate, he joined in June of the B-show Sunday Night HEAT . In January 2003 he was finally fired from World Wrestling Entertainment.
He has now appeared in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . He feuded first with Jeff Jarrett and later with AJ Styles . As in the ECW and WCW, Levy was made head of the Stable "The Gathering", which included Julio Dinero (Brian Wohl), Alexis Laree and CM Punk . Now a feud with Abyss ensued . Then he feuded together with The Sandman, Terry Funk and most recently Sabu against Dinero and Punk. On June 19, 2005 Levy was allowed to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at Slammiversary . He then feuded with Sabu against Rhino and Jeff Jarrett. After losing the title, Scott Levy recovered from gastrointestinal problems and a thyroid disease caused by drug abuse over the past few years. He returned to the ring at Sacrifice in 2006 . A feud against Abyss and Brother Runt ensued .
On September 23, 2006 Levy was allowed to win the UXW Heavyweight Championship from the USA Xtreme Wrestling promotion based in Orlando , Florida . He held this title until February 24, 2007.
In November 2006 Levy took over the leadership of a stable around him for the fourth time in TNA. The group called "serotonin" included Matt Bentley , Franklin Kazarian and Johnny Devine (John P. Parsonage). A brief feud program with Sean Waltman also followed . After his TNA contract expired, Levy returned to UXW and was part of the UXW squad until the league closed in 2008. In the same year Levy played a role in the film Death Racers .
Independent
Levy subsequently appeared in various independent leagues, including the Independent Wrestling Association .
However, in late May 2009, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling announced that they had signed Levy for some TV appearances. In November 2009 he took part in the Irish- based promotion American Wrestling Rampage on their European tour. He then competed for TNA in a few matches.
Lawsuit against the WWE
Scott Levy sued his former employer in the summer of 2008 because of his dismissal by the WWE in 2003. He insisted on being classified as a salaried wrestler. Officially, however - like all WWE wrestlers - he was employed as a freelance wrestler. That means, so Levy in his complaint, that he could have been hired for other promotions, but this was forbidden by the WWE and he was treated as a permanent employee. At the end of February 2009, however, the court came to the conclusion that his classification was legal. If Levy had won, the WWE would have had to pay back in large amounts. Levy's attorney is currently investigating a dispute on the matter.
