The Plessur region is an administrative unit of the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland , which was created as a result of the regional reform on January 1, 2016. It is named after the river Plessur that crosses it .
Except for the municipality of Haldenstein (changed from the Landquart district on January 1, 2016 ), the Plessur region is identical to the Plessur district that existed until December 31, 2015 . However, the districts of Chur , Churwalden and Schanfigg were dissolved on December 31, 2015.
