The district of Albula ( Romansh Alvra ) was an administrative unit of the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland until December 31, 2015 . On January 1, 2016, it was replaced by the Albula region .
It comprised the valleys of the Albula , the Albula Valley , and the Julia , the Oberhalbstein . The region is also called Surmeir .
The following territorial changes took place:
- The parishes of Rona and Tinizong merged on July 1, 1998 to form Tinizong-Rona parish .
- On January 1, 2009, the municipality of Wiesen merged with Davos . As a result, the territory of the former municipality changes to the Prättigau / Davos district.
- On January 1, 2015, the communities of Alvaneu , Brienz / Brinzauls and Surava from the Belfort district merged with Alvaschein , Mon , Stierva and Tiefencastel from the Alvaschein district to form the new Albula / Alvra community, which belongs to the Alvaschein district.
- On January 1, 2016, the Albula district was replaced by the Albula region . The municipality of Mutten moved to the Viamala region .
