history
The former community is mentioned for the first time in a document from 1154 on the occasion of the abolition of the women's monastery ( coloniam unam de Aluisinis ) , which has only been preserved as a later copy . The place name should refer to one of the 8./9. Century in Graubünden common personal names Lupicinus or Lubucio go back, but maybe also to Latin Albesius / Albisius or Albucius . The form starting with d first appears in 1551 as Dalwasein .
Since 1282 it has been under the prince-bishops of Chur . From 1367 the former community belonged to the church association . The residents finally bought themselves free from the prince-bishop in 1732. Almost the entire village was cremated in a fire in 1745. Since 1851 the place has been the seat of the district of the same name.
