Reichwalde

Reichwalde ( Lower Sorbian Rychwałd ) is a district of the Bersteland municipality in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg . Until it was incorporated into Bersteland on February 1, 2002, Reichwalde was an independent municipality administered by the Unterspreewald office.

Reichwalde is located in Niederlausitz in the landscape area of ​​the Unterspreewald almost twelve kilometers west of Lübben . Surrounding localities are Freiwalde in the northeast, the municipality part Rickshausen in the east, the district Schiebsdorf belonging to the municipality Kasel-Golzig in the southeast, Kasel-Golzig in the southwest, the district Zützen belonging to the city Golßen with the municipality part Gersdorf in the west and that belonging to the municipality Schönwald district Waldow / fire in the northwest.

Reichwalde is on the district road 6137 , which leads via Kasel-Golzig to Luckau . The national road 71 of Dahme according Leibsch extends approximately one kilometer east of the village, the Federal Highway 115 from Lubben according Jiiterbog is one kilometer north. history

Reichwalde was first mentioned in a document in 1170.

In the 12th and 13th centuries, Reichwalde Castle was built on a Slavic rampart surrounded by swamps . The castle was mentioned for the first time in 1301. The place and the castle were the center of the Reichwalde dominion , to which around eleven to thirteen other villages belonged in addition to Reichwalde. On April 26, 1414, the owner Hans von Bieberstein sold part of the estate, including Reichwalde, to the city of Luckau, making Reichwalde a council village of the city.

Reichwalde Castle was north of Reichwalde on the road to Freiwalde. After the sale of Reichwalde to the city of Luckau and the associated dissolution of the Reichwalde rule, King Wenzel granted permission to demolish the castle, of which nothing is left today.

Reichwalde belongs to the parish Kasel-Golzig.

After the Congress of Vienna , the formerly Saxon Reichwalde came to the Kingdom of Prussia and was located in the Luckau district . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the newly formed Luckau district in the Cottbus district . After the fall of the Wall , Reichwalde was in the Luckau district in Brandenburg . On October 26, 1992 the community joined the Unterspreewald office . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , the Reichwalde community finally joined the newly formed Dahme-Spreewald district . On February 1, 2002, Reichwalde merged with the municipalities of Freiwalde and Niewitz to form the new municipality of Bersteland . On January 1, 2013, the Unterspreewald office merged with the Golßener Land office , creating the Unterspreewald office .
