Reisenbach is a district of the municipality of Mudau and is 536 m above sea level. NN the highest village in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg . The place is known for the telecommunications tower Reisenbach , which has become its landmark.
Geographical location
Reisenbach is located 7.5 km southwest of the main town Mudau in the southeastern part of the Odenwald in its red sandstone area on the Winterhauch , a long plateau that has its third highest mountain 700 m northwest of the center of the village with the Hart ( 581 m above sea level ). The district includes the Reisenberg ( 567.8 m ) in the east and the Salzlackenkopf ( 576.1 m ) in the west. The highest mountain in the Odenwald, the Katzenbuckel ( 626.8 m ) rises 7 km southwest of Reisenbach on the horizon. The place is located in the headwaters of a branch of the Reisenbach , which cuts deep into the sandstone formations of the Odenwald immediately after leaving the village to the south and joins the other source creeks after a valley path of 1.8 km at the Reisenbacher Grund residential area ( 360 m ). The southern boundary of Reisenbach follows the course of the Reisenbach for another 1.8 km up to with 251 m above sea level. NN lowest point of the district and also of the municipality of Mudau. In the north-north-west the plateau falls into the valley basin of the Galmbach , in the north-east lies the source of the Elz , beyond a hump and the boundary of the district .
history
The existence of the village of Rysenbuch can be traced back to 1292. It was created after 1050 as a clearing settlement of the Amorbach Abbey from the Fronhof Mudau with about three to four hubs .
From 1318 to 1803, the ore monastery of Mainz ruled over the Obere Cent Mudau and thus also over Reisenbach. During the Napoleonic period, territorial rule passed to the Principality of Leiningen for three years , followed in 1806 by the Grand Duchy of Baden .
From January 1, 1975, the community of Reisenbach was merged with Mudau, Schlossau and Waldauerbach by law to form the newly founded community of Mudau.
Transport and infrastructure
The district road K 3921 leads through Reisenbach, which branches off from the state road L 524 in Oberscheidental to the east , which connects the core town of Mudau with Eberbach via the winter breath . The K 3921 leads west along the Reisenbach. After crossing over to the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis it bears the serial number K 4114. It leads northeast of Eberbach near Antonslust in the Ittertal to the L 2311.
