While the western indication of it is entered as a trigonometric point , the eastern indication corresponds to the mountain summit, where a sign on a tree can be read: belt and 678 m . Another trigonometric point is recorded at 675.8  m about 110 m south of both values . Around 60 m northwest of both indications there is a forest path branch at an altitude of 677.2  m , and just 40 m south there is a measuring station .

The Rhine-Weser watershed runs over the belt . While the water of the springing on the northern flank Heinsberger Bach (Krenkelsbach) with that of its north-west of the mountain springing inflow well Siepen by the Hundem , Lenne and Ruhr in the Rhine flows, the water flowing Zinse by the Röspe in the Eder and that of Elber villages Bach directly into the Eder and then through the Fulda to the Weser .
