Rize of the Fenix is the third music album of American rock band Tenacious D . It was released by Sony on May 10, 2012.

Creation and publication

After the release of the film Kings of Rock - Tenacious D , Jack Black announced a hiatus in late 2006. In 2008 the band announced they would release a new album for 2010, in 2009, according to Black, “one to one and a half songs were ready” , so the release was postponed. Drummer Dave Grohl wrote on the Foo Fighters Twitter account in August 2010 that he had worked on the drum tracks. At the end of 2010, the band called the writing for the album "half done" and announced the first releases for the end of 2011. In May 2011 Jack Black announced the name for the album. Guitarist John Konesky announced in November 2011 that the album would be released in the spring.

The first music video for To Be the Best was released on March 26, 2012. The video, which was designed as a short film, featured guest stars including Dave Grohl , Val Kilmer , Josh Groban , Jimmy Kimmel , Maria Menounos , Tim Robbins and Yoshiki Hayashi . On April 28, 2012, the album was pre-released on the band's SoundCloud account, and the album itself was released on May 10, 2012.
