Rob Bordson (born June 9, 1988 in Duluth , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with Västerviks IK in HockeyAllsvenskan since July 2019 .
Career
After Bordson had played three seasons between 2007 and 2010 in college ice hockey at the University of Minnesota Duluth , he signed on March 23, 2010 a two-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks . Shortly after his first season as a professional, Bordson and Danny Syvret were exchanged for David Laliberté and Patrick Maroon with the Philadelphia Flyers .
Bordson was also part of a large transfer deal in June 2011, joining the Los Angeles Kings with Mike Richards . In return, the Kings received Wayne Simmonds , Brayden Schenn and a second-round vote in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft .
In September 2011, Bordson signed a contract with the Trenton Titans in the ECHL . During the 2011/12 season, Bordson was committed to a Professional Try-Out (PTO) in December 2011 . He stayed with the Titans after the try-out, before he was signed on February 21, 2012 for the rest of the season by the former Adirondack Phantoms team . On August 12, Bordson then signed a contract with the Chicago Wolves .
On September 14, 2015, Bordson signed as a free agent and returned to the ECHL for the first time since 2011 to start their first season with the Adirondack Thunder . With 13 points in seven games, Bordson returned to the American Hockey League on November 6, 2015 , signing a one-year contract with the Providence Bruins .
After the 2015/16 season was over, Bordson moved to Germany and signed a one-year contract with Fischtown Pinguins . He had a total of 30 assists and 38 points in 45 games in his first 2016/17 season. On August 31, 2017, Bordson signed a one-year contract with Düsseldorfer EG .
In the 2018/19 season he was under contract with Dornbirner EC in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga and then moved to Sweden for Västerviks IK .
