Rogowszczyzna ( German  Konradsfelde , until 1911 Rogowszisna ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Świętajno (Schwentainen) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district from 1933 to 1945 ).

Geographical location

Rogowszczyzna is located on the north bank of the Dworatzker See (1938 to 1945 Herrendorfer See, Polish Jezioro Dworackie ) in the east of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , twelve kilometers southwest of the district town of Olecko (Marggrabowa , 1928 to 1945 Treuburg) .

history

Today's hamlet ( osada in Polish ) was founded in 1814 under the name Abbau Rogowski as a small estate and was called Rogowszysnen from August 16, 1815 , after 1818 Rogowszyzna and until 1911 Rogowszisna . The manor was part of the rural community Schwentainen ( Polish Świętajno ) in the Oletzko district (1933 to 1945 Treuburg district) in the Gumbinnen district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1905 it had 34 residents in three houses. On November 2, 1911, the village was renamed "Konradsfelde".

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Rogowszczyzna”. Today it is part of the rural community Świętajno (Schwentainen) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district from 1933 to 1945 ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Konradsfelde was parish in the Evangelical Church of Schwentainen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church Marggrabowa (1928 to 1945 Treuburg, Polish Olecko) in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Rogowszczyzna belongs to the Protestant parish Wydminy (Widminnen) , a branch parish of the parish Giżycko (Lötzen) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , and to the Catholic parish church Świętajno (Schwentainen) in the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Church in Poland .

traffic

Rogoszczyzna can be reached from the voivodship road DW 655 via Dunajek (Duneyken , 1938 to 1945 Duneiken) and Świętajno (Schwentainen) on a side road. Between 1911 and 1945 Konradsfelde was a train station on the Marggrabowa – Schwentainen line , which was used by the Oletzkoer Kleinbahnen (Treuburger Kleinbahnen). As a result of the war, operations on this route were stopped.
