Rudniki (German Bürgerwiesen and Plehnendorf ) is a district of Gdańsk ( Danzig ) in Poland , this covers an area of ​​14.2 km² and has 1452 inhabitants with a population density of 102 inhabitants / km². In 1933 the area was administratively part of the city of Gdansk.

geography

The district is located in the east of the city and borders the districts of Olszynka , the inner city and the rural municipality of Pruszcz Gdański ( Praust ). In the north Rudniki borders on the Martwą Wisłą ( Dead Vistula ) and in the west on the moats of the former fortifications. Beyond the Dead Vistula lie the districts of Przeróbka , Stogi , Krakowiec-Górki Zachodnie and Wyspa Sobieszewska .

The area belongs entirely to the Vistula Delta . The places still have a village character, but a considerable area is taken up by industrial plants and the Gdańsk oil refinery of Grupa LOTOS .

history

The meadows and pastures of the Hanseatic city of Danzig were in Bürgerwiesen . Until 1942, the dwelling place Krakauer Kämpe on the island of the same name belonged to Klein Plehnendorf .
