Letnica (German Lauenthal or Lauental , Kashubian Latnica ) is a district of Gdańsk ( Danzig ) in Poland , this covers an area of 4 km² and has 1333 inhabitants with a population density of 331 inhabitants / km². In 1914, the area was administratively part of the city of Danzig.
geography
The district is located in the north of the inner city and borders the districts of Brzeźno , Nowy Port , Młyniska , Wrzeszcz Dolny and Przeróbka on the other side of Martwą Wisłą ( Dead Vistula ). The Strzyżą ( Strießbach ) flows into the Vistula in the district. A considerable area of Letnica is occupied by port facilities and industrial plants. The residential area is still characterized by the pre-war workers' settlement, but the houses in the vicinity of the stadium were also "renovated" by demolition.

traffic
Letnica has the Gdańsk Stadion Expo station , which is only served by the Gdańsk S-Bahn during sporting events . Gdańsk Zaspa Towarowa is currently no longer served. There are also tram and bus routes. The Vistula train station for goods traffic, built in 1889, no longer exists.
