Rudolf Klein (District Administrator)

Rudolf Klein (born May 31, 1885 in Düsseldorf , † April 16, 1971 in Münster ) was a German administrative lawyer , district administrator and government vice-president .

Life

Born as the son of the married couple Friedrich Wilhelm Klein and Bertha Riesen, Klein studied law at the universities of Kiel and Bonn from 1903 to 1906 after graduating from high school in his home town of Düsseldorf . From 1906 he did his legal clerkship at the Cologne Higher Regional Court and at the Königswinter District Court . In 1907 he worked as a government trainee with the Cologne government . After passing the major state examination in law, from May 1911 he worked as a government assessor and assistant for the district administrator in Kolberg . In 1914 he acted as a deputy district administrator in the Colberg-Cörlin district . In 1916 he took over the district office in the Merzig district . Appointed district administrator there in 1919, he remained in office until 1930. From December 13, 1932, Klein held the district office in the Coesfeld district until he took over the office of regional president in the Trier district in 1936 . In 1937 he became government vice-president in the Münster administrative district and remained in office there until the end of the war. From May 4, 1945, he was executive President of the Province of Westphalia .

In June 1945, he was impeached and arrested by the British occupation authorities. In August 1947, Klein retired.

Klein was a member of the National Socialist Motor Vehicle Corps (NSKK) and was appointed Oberscharführer in 1933 . In 1919 he married Martha Ohligschlaeger. From this marriage a daughter was born.
