Ryan Michael Carter (born August 3, 1983 in White Bear Lake , Minnesota ) is a former American ice hockey player who played 519 games for the Anaheim Ducks , Carolina Hurricanes , Florida Panthers , New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League on the position of the center has denied. With the Anaheim Ducks, Carter won the Stanley Cup in 2007 .
Career
The 1.85 meter tall center played for the Green Bay Gamblers in the US Junior League United States Hockey League , during his studies was the Links shooter then subsequently for the team of the Minnesota State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , a League in play for the National Collegiate Athletic Association , on the ice. In the summer of 2006, the American signed a contract with the Anaheim Ducks , of which he was initially used with the Portland Pirates , the farm team in the American Hockey League . In the Stanley Cup Playoffs 2007 Carter was appointed to the NHL squad of the Ducks, with which he was able to win the Stanley Cup straight away .
Ryan Carter scored his first goal in the highest North American ice hockey league on February 8, 2008 against the New Jersey Devils . In April of the same year, the American extended his contract in Anaheim for three years. In November 2010 it was given to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Stefan Chaput and Matt Kennedy . After only three months with the Hurricanes, Carter was sent to the Florida Panthers on February 24, 2011 together with a five-round suffrage in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in a transfer deal , in exchange Cory Stillman went to Carolina. In October 2011, the Panthers put him on the waiver list , from which the New Jersey Devils selected the striker.
After three years in New Jersey, Carter's contract was not renewed after the 2013-14 season, so he joined the Minnesota Wild in October 2014 . There he completed two seasons before his expiring contract was not renewed in July 2016. It was not until February 2017 that he was signed by the Iowa Wild from the AHL on a trial contract after he had completely cured his shoulder injury from the previous year. A few days later, his ex-club from Minnesota took him back under contract, but until the end of the season he played exclusively in Iowa. In September 2017, Carter finally announced the end of his active professional career at the age of 34.
International
Carter took part in the 2010 World Cup with the US national team. The attacker scored a goal and an assist in six World Cup games . At the 2013 World Cup in Stockholm and Helsinki he was again part of the national team and won the bronze medal with it.
