Cory Stillman (born December 20, 1973 in Peterborough , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current coach and functionary who played 1107 games for the Calgary Flames , St. Louis Blues , Tampa Bay Lightning , Carolina Hurricanes , Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers played in the National Hockey League on the left winger position . Stillman won the Stanley Cup with both the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004 and the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006 . Stillman has been the head coach of the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League since summer 2017 .
Career
The 1.83 m tall winger began his career with the Windsor Spitfires in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , before being selected sixth in the first round by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft .
The left-handed shooter first played for Calgary's farm team Saint John Flames in the American Hockey League , and in the 1994/95 season the Canadian made his first NHL appearances for Calgary, where he was active until 2000 . During the 2000/01 season Stillman was transferred to the St. Louis Blues , in 2004 he won the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning .
On August 2, 2005, the Canadian, now run as a free agent , signed a contract with the Carolina Hurricanes , with whom he won the Stanley Cup again in his first season. Stillman was only the sixth player to date to win the title with two different teams. In February 2008 Stillman was transferred from the Hurricanes to the Ottawa Senators , at the end of the season he moved to league rivals Florida Panthers . In Florida, the attacker was always set as a regular in the following three seasons before he was given in a barter to the Carolina Hurricanes on February 24, 2011. In September 2011 Stillman declared his career over.
After retiring from active sport, Stillman returned to the Florida Panthers for the 2011/12 season, where he took on a role in the expanded coaching staff for the season. He then moved back to the Hurricanes, where he held the post of Director of Player Development for a total of five seasons between 2012 and 2017 . Since the start of the 2017/18 season , Stillman has been the head coach of Sudbury Wolves from the Canadian junior league Ontario Hockey League.
International
Stillman played for his home country at the 1999 World Cup in Norway . With eight scorer points from ten games, he played a key role in reaching fourth place.

Stillman is the son-in-law of former AHL player Bud Stefanski , who was General Manager of the Toronto St. Michael's Majors from the OHL until 2007 .
