Career

The 1.83 m tall winger began his career with the Windsor Spitfires in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , before being selected sixth in the first round by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft .

The left-handed shooter first played for Calgary's farm team Saint John Flames in the American Hockey League , and in the 1994/95 season the Canadian made his first NHL appearances for Calgary, where he was active until 2000 . During the 2000/01 season Stillman was transferred to the St. Louis Blues , in 2004 he won the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning .

On August 2, 2005, the Canadian, now run as a free agent , signed a contract with the Carolina Hurricanes , with whom he won the Stanley Cup again in his first season. Stillman was only the sixth player to date to win the title with two different teams. In February 2008 Stillman was transferred from the Hurricanes to the Ottawa Senators , at the end of the season he moved to league rivals Florida Panthers . In Florida, the attacker was always set as a regular in the following three seasons before he was given in a barter to the Carolina Hurricanes on February 24, 2011. In September 2011 Stillman declared his career over.

After retiring from active sport, Stillman returned to the Florida Panthers for the 2011/12 season, where he took on a role in the expanded coaching staff for the season. He then moved back to the Hurricanes, where he held the post of Director of Player Development for a total of five seasons between 2012 and 2017 .
