Ryan Kenneth White (born March 17, 1988 in Brandon , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Manitoba Moose from the American Hockey League since October 2018 and plays for them in the position of right winger .

Career

Ryan White began his career as a hockey player with the Calgary Hitmen , for which he was active from 2004 to 2008 in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League . In the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons he was elected to the first and the second All-Star Team of the Eastern Conference of the WHL. During his time with the Calgary Hitmen, the winger was selected in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft in the third round as a total of 66th player by the Canadiens de Montréal . For their farm team, Hamilton Bulldogs , he has been regularly on the ice in the American Hockey League since the 2008/09 season . In the 2009/10 season , the Canadian also made his debut for the Canadiens de Montréal in the National Hockey League , when he prepared two goals in 16 games.

In the 2010/11 season White played parallel for the Canadiens de Montréal in the NHL and the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL. After six years in the organization of the Canadiens, his contract was not renewed, so he joined the Philadelphia Flyers in August 2014 . There he did not receive a new contract after the 2015/16 season, so he signed up as a free agent for the Arizona Coyotes for a year. In February 2017 he was handed over to the Minnesota Wild as part of the beginning of the rebuilding of the Coyotes squad with Martin Hanzal and a four-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft 2017 . In return, Arizona Grayson Downing received a first-round vote in the same draft, a second-round vote in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, and a fourth-round vote in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft .

After the end of the season, however, the winger's contract was not renewed by the Wild, whereupon the free agent accepted trial contracts with the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins between August and November 2017 . However, this did not result in a permanent engagement, so that in mid-November 2017 he was signed by the San Diego Gulls from the AHL, also on probation. There he was active until February 2018, when he was finally signed by the Iowa Wild . After the contract ended, White joined league rivals Manitoba Moose in late October 2018 .
