Sæby Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the Danish island of Zealand . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Løve Herred in what was then Holbæk Amt , then to Høng Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which in turn was merged into the enlarged Kalundborg Municipality in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .
On January 1, 2020, 544 people lived in the parish, 362 of them in the parish of Sæby . The "Sæby Kirke" lies on the territory of the municipality.
Neighboring communities are in the north Buerup Sogn , in the northeast Reerslev Sogn , in the southeast in the area of Sorø Kommune the parish of Ruds Vedby Sogn , in the south Finderup Sogn and in the west Hallenslev Sogn . In the northwest, the parish borders on Tissø . The small, north-west located town of Lunden also belongs to the Sogn.
Sæbygård, which has been documented since the beginning of the 12th century, belongs to the municipality. It has a size of 408 hectares. The Danish military leader Esbern Snare , the founder of Kalundborg, died here in 1204 .
