The Süsterfeld-Helleböhn district is one of 23 districts of the north Hessian city of Kassel .

Part of the district is located in the Dönche and the Westfriedhof .

history

Süsterfeld-Helleböhn once belonged to the districts Wahlershausen and Niederzwehren . The district is divided into four clearly defined areas:

Süsterfeld with buildings from the 1930s
Helleböhn , a large housing estate from the 1950s, then a model project with 6,000 residents

Wooden garden with an upscale home construction

documenta urbana , a settlement built between 1979 and 1982 on the occasion of Documenta 7 , which represents an exemplary, small-scale residential building as a project measure

There are several churches in the district , including the Dreifaltigkeitskirche and the parish church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, built in 1970 .

politics

The local advisory board of Süsterfeld-Helleböhn is formed by nine representatives elected by the citizens of the district in local elections . The last election was in 2016. Helmut Alex was elected mayor from among the local council members.
