history
U 23 was commissioned from the Germania shipyard in Kiel on March 18, 1911 . The commissioning took place on September 11, 1913.
During the attack on the British submarine trap Princess Louise on July 20, 1915, U 23 was sunk by a torpedo from the British submarine C 27 . The last position was 58 ° 55 ' N , 0 ° 14' O . Ten of the crew - 34 at that time - survived and 24 men were killed.
