SM U 107 was a diesel-electric submarine of the German Imperial Navy that was used in the First World War .
Calls
U 107 was commissioned on May 5, 1916 expired on 28 June 1917 at the Germania shipyard in Kiel from the stack and was put into service on August 18, 1917th From September 1917 the boat was assigned to the IV. U- Flotilla in Emden and Borkum .
U 107 led five during World War enterprises in the eastern North Atlantic through. Five merchant ships with a total tonnage of 17,546 GRT were sunk. In addition to ships of the war opponents, this also included the Norwegian sailing ship Castor I with 117 GRT.
The largest ship sunk by U 107 was the British passenger ship Flavia with 9,291 GRT. The Flavia was sunk on August 24, 1918 on her voyage from Montreal to Avonmouth near Bristol about 30 nautical miles northwest of Tory Island ( Ireland ). A person was killed in the process.
Whereabouts
On November 20, 1918 U 107 was delivered to the United Kingdom and scrapped in Swansea ( Wales ) in 1922 .
