SM U 25 was a diesel-electric submarine of the German Imperial Navy that was used in the First World War .
history
U 25 was launched on July 12, 1913 at the Germania shipyard in Kiel from the stack and was put into service on 9 May 1914th The commissioning commander of the submarine was Otto Wünsche , who was in command until September 15, 1915. Then Alfred Saalwächter took over the command. From October 23 to December 29, 1917, Emil Heusinger von Waldegg was in command of the boat.
U 25 carried out three war missions in which 21 merchant ships from the Entente and neutral states with a total tonnage of 14,126 GRT were sunk.
Whereabouts
After the end of the war, U 25 was extradited to France on February 23, 1919 and broken up in Cherbourg in 1921/22 .
