SM U 123 was a diesel-electric mines - Submarine of Class P II of the German Imperial Navy in the First World War .

Commissioning

U 123 was commissioned on May 27, 1916 expired on January 26, 1918 at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg from the stack and was put into service on July 20, 1918th The boat was assigned to the I. U- Flotilla in Helgoland and Brunsbüttel . First and only in command was First Lieutenant Karl Thouret.

U 123 introduced during the First World War, no company by, and therefore could not submerge any ship or damage.

Whereabouts

After the armistice , U 123 was extradited to the United Kingdom on November 22, 1918 . The boat was moored in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight , where it was seen by numerous visitors. During the transfer to the scrapping site, the boat stranded on the British east coast in 1921 and was scrapped.
