The Inclán district is located in the Tacna province in the Tacna region in the extreme southwest of Peru . The district has an area of ​​1414.82 km². The 2017 census counted 2,613 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 1,144, in 2007 4,064. The district administration is located in Sama Grande , on the west bank of the Río Sama 6 km north of the national road 1S ( Panamericana ).

The Inclán District is located in the northwest of the Tacna Province. It has a length in the NE direction of 40 km and a width of about 30 km. The Panamericana forms the southern district boundary. The course of the Quebrada de Cerrillos Negros represents the eastern border of the district. In the south of the district is the coastal desert, in the north the foothills of the Cordillera Volcánica . The district of Inclán borders on the province of Jorge Basadre in the west, on the province of Tarata in the north, on the district of Alto de la Alianza in the east and on the district of Sama in the south . Irrigated agriculture is practiced along the course of the Río Sama.
