The ninth season of the American television series Scrubs - The Beginners celebrated its premiere on December 1, 2009 at the station ABC . The German-language premiere broadcast of the German Free TV transmitter ProSieben from 1 February to 15 March 2011, except for Episode 1, which for the first time on ORFeins was broadcast on 29 January 2011th

The eighth season of Scrubs was originally intended to be the final season. In May 2009 the television station ABC announced a continuation of the series with 13 episodes.

The first day at the new clinic for the new students Lucy, Drew and Cole. Dr. Cox still thinks they are failures and murderers. JD is now working as a guest lecturer and is trying to establish a good relationship with them. He also wants to know from Turk where the caretaker is. Turk explains that he disappeared when he learned that JD really doesn't work here anymore. Dr. Cox picks Drew as his new favorite student, who is already in a relationship with Denise. Lucy has because of Dr. Cox is no longer self-confident and therefore gets involved with Cole.

Lucy wants to help her patient, who is an alcoholic, so he can go into rehab. Dr. Cox explains clearly to her that it won't do anything, sooner or later they'll all end up back here. But she doesn't let that stop her and collects money for him. But Dr. Cox is right. JD and Turk realize that there is more between Drew and Denise than they want to believe. Dr. Kelso helps so that the two lovers show each other their true feelings.

Dr. Cox is disappointed with the performance of his favorite student Drew and kills him. JD has to straighten him up and have a serious word with Dr. Talk to Cox because he set his standards too high. Lucy asks Dr. Mahoney that she is allowed to accompany her, but she does not want that until she has problems with a patient who is terminally ill and her son. Suddenly Lucy has to explain to her how to behave in such a situation.

JD and Turk want to have a men's night out because their wives are gone. Dr. But Cox tells them that there is a themed party for the students. Since they like to dress up, they go there to find that Dr. Cox wanted to ridicule her. Ted is on his last day at the clinic and is disappointed with Dr. Kelso, who only has one handshake left to say goodbye. Cole and his colleagues want to go to the party too, but Dr. Mahoney instructs them to have one final interview with four dying patients. Everyone except Lucy is done quickly. She needs advice from JD and Turk and the support of others in order to access the patient.

JD has his last day at Sacred Heart. Once again he has to intervene to help because Lucy cannot cope with the task at hand. Dr. But Cox makes him aware that it won't help her if he always helps her. So he puts her on the crucial test. Lucy must now Dr. Cox taking blood. Somehow Drew and Denise slip more and more into a real relationship, but neither want to admit it. Sunny gets her to go out with her and her boyfriend.

Turk is sad because JD is no longer there and he no longer has a boyfriend to fool around and play pranks with. But he unexpectedly finds a like-minded person in Denise. Lucy wants too much all at once, so she gets into an argument with Elliot because she thinks she's neglecting her patients. Elliot explains to her that she used to be the same as she is today and that she has only changed thanks to pregnancy. Cole suddenly panics that he won't be able to pass school, which will cause him problems with his father.

The ceremonial distribution of the lab coats is pending. Before that happens, Dr. Cox know of every student why he wants to be a doctor. Lucy is struggling with this because she's looking for the right answer for Dr. Cox is looking. All she has to do is say why she is really doing it. Denise constantly sabotages her relationship with Drew, Elliot gives her tutoring on how to behave properly. Cole finds out a dark secret about Drew, which is why he doesn't want to give the speech at the event.

Lucy doesn't want the hospital to know that she's making out with Cole. Actually, it's not a relationship for her, just sex. But she has to admit that there is more and admits that Cole is her friend. Denise and Drew annoy the security men by stealing their golf carts and have a lot of fun seeing how desperate they are about it. Dr. Cox and Turk treat an old friend. They discover that he has cancer and will not live long. Dr. Cox tries to help him and forces Turk to operate on him, although he is against it. The patient dies and Dr. Cox blames himself.

Lucy finds that she struggles to cut people open even after they have passed away. Turk gives her a good tip on how to deal with it. Jordan asks Dr. Cox that he is making a will because her sister's partner has passed away and has left her with nothing. He actually doesn't want that, but when a patient dies whose husband is also in the hospital, he realizes that it would make sense. Elliot is in the final preparations for the birth of her baby. There is no time for affection for JD. But he organizes a spontaneous evening for her in a specially designed feel-good zone in the hospital.

During an exam, Dr. Cox made a cheat sheet on the toilet. Since only Lucy, Cole, Maya, Trang and Drew were outside, they have to stay until the cheat has turned himself in. Everyone suspects the other, but Cole can tell from Lucy's behavior that it was her. He takes the blame to help her, but she contradicts him and wants to meet Dr. Cox pose. But they don't allow it because they all have problems and everyone deserves a second chance. Drew tells Denise that he loves her, which totally confuses her. When she is ready to tell him too, she finds out by chance that he is still married. At first she is angry with him, but after he explains why he is still married, she can still tell him that she loves him too.

Dr. Cox tries to keep Drew away from the study group to see if it works anyway. Lucy and Trang therefore clash over who the new leader is. Drew initially joins the game, but then realizes that his place is there and the group needs someone to lead them. Turk has a problem with a respected international surgeon and sponsor of the hospital taking his place away. At first, he's not ready to work with him, but well-intentioned advice from Dr. Kelso makes him change his mind.

Dr. Kelso is not feeling well, the investigation shows that he is no longer allowed to drive a car himself. He makes Dr. Cox complicit in the new situation. During an exercise in class, you discover that Cole has melanoma. During the treatment, Lucy wants to support Cole but he refuses her. In a conversation, Dr. Kelso and Cole found out that you shouldn't offend your friends because you're scared and can't admit it. Drew gets caught between the fronts of Dr. Cox and Denise, who find that they have a lot in common in their jobs.

After Cole got over his illness, he is grateful to Turk for having operated on him and now sees it as his calling to become a surgeon too. Dr. Cox thinks this is a good idea, Turk not so much. Denise wants to take her relationship with Drew to a higher level, so she knocks a hole in the partition between her rooms. But he is overwhelmed with the situation until Dr. Getting Cox on the right track. Lucy wants to say something special for the thank you ceremony for Ben, her student corpse, but a conversation with his son shows her that he was not the person she thought he was. Denise helps her with it because it is not important what he was while he was alive, but the services that he gave them as a corpse during their training.

DVD release

In the United States , the ninth season DVD was released on September 28, 2010. The DVD for the ninth season has been available in Germany since April 15, 2011.
