Turk happens to meet Dr. Cox always on the toilet. The game takes a while until Turk realizes that Cox is controlling him because he doesn't allow him to be with Carla, but he would like to be the one himself.

Elliot's student is the son of the director of the company that owns the hospital. That's why he thinks he doesn't have to do anything. At first she struggles with it until Dr. Kelso puts you on the right track. When Elliot confronts him with telling everything to his father, he suddenly feels it. Turk's student is a confident woman, Dr. Cox is very fond of her. Turk tries to annoy him by saying that he has a crush on Carla, but Cox pretends that doesn't bother him. Turk forbids her to have contact with him, as it is not appropriate. But that doesn't stop her and ultimately has to take the decisive step.

Cox shows him what he does every day for it, but this soon becomes too much for Turk because he has no more time for Carla.

Jordan's brother Ben has to go to the clinic for treatment for injuring his hand. He's the best friend of Dr. Cox and when they go to play pool with JD that evening, the two doctors find that Ben's wound is still bleeding. So they get further investigation and when the result is certain JD refuses to believe it. Lately there have been various mistakes and mix-ups in the clinic: Turk almost removed a testicle from a patient even though he had an inflamed appendix and Elliot incorrectly informed her friend Jill that she was pregnant, but the urine samples were mixed up. So JD just hopes that Ben also made a mistake and that he doesn't have leukemia, but unfortunately the diagnosis is correct.

When Ben's leukemia treatment begins, JD says that Dr. Cox is sure to be there for his best friend, but has to realize that he cannot handle the situation. Turk's ego is scratched because Dr. Who doesn't see him as the best surgical assistant. Carla fills out a questionnaire for Elliot that Dr. Kelso has requested. Because they think he's anonymous, Carla writes nasty things about him, but Elliot takes responsibility when it turns out that Dr. Kelso tricked.

So JD, Turk and Carla realize that they have to take responsibility themselves and JD talks to Dr. Cox's conscience, Turk asks Dr. Who, why he's not number 1 and Carla goes to Dr. Kelso to tell him that she completed the questionnaire.
