The sixth season of the American television series Scrubs - The Beginners celebrated its premiere on 30 November 2006 on the transmitter NBC . The German-language premiere sent the German Free TV transmitter ProSieben and the Austrian free TV channels ORF eins October 6 to December 20 of 2007.

JD struggles to come to terms with Kim's pregnancy. Dr. Cox has trouble with his temper. The caretaker questions his life in general. All three can be found in older patients who have become these people through the problems. Elliot has a problem with the fact that she is the only one not pregnant. All but the caretaker find their way out of their depths by facing their problems and accepting help. JD also has to confess to his colleagues that Kim became pregnant without them having had real sex.

So they go on strike and go to "Coffee Bucks" work until Dr. Kelso gives in. Turk gives medical advice outside the hospital for a fee because he is afraid that if Carla does not return to work, he will no longer be able to support his family. Elliot has a patient who runs a private clinic. He's brought his own assistant and Elliot's treatment is simply knocked over. But she resists it and thus also draws the anger of Dr. Cox on himself. But the efforts are paying off because she is offered a job at the private clinic. Kim tells JD that she has found a new job in Washington, DC .

A closer examination in the Sacred Heart reveals a huge aneurysm which caused the disorder. Dr. Cox has to make it clear to the patient that, despite the dangerous procedure, everything will be fine. Carla actually wants to go back to work, but Izzy's nanny is too expensive. At first she complies, but soon realizes that she is missing the work and now has to explain this to Turk. Elliot found a new house. JD assumes he will move with her, but Elliot wants to be to himself. It won't be easy to explain this to JD.

Dr. Kelso keeps out of the day-to-day business in the hospital more and more, which his employees also noticed. During one of his chance visits to the station, he meets the soldier Brian Dancer, who was wounded in the Iraq war. Turk convinces JD that he has to be there for Kim's first ultrasound and that he should travel to Tacoma. Carla outwits Turk so she can accompany JD, and Elliot and Keith come along too. So they (together with Rowdy) have too little space in the car. So they hijack Dr. Kelso and Ted. On the way it turns out that the caretaker is also there, who had his afternoon nap in the mobile home. But the trip is in vain for JD because Kim has to tell him that she had a miscarriage. Jordan also has an ultrasound appointment, during which the pediatrician finds that something is wrong with the unborn child and needs to be operated on. Dr. Because of this, Cox goes completely crazy and asks Turk to be there for the operation, as he is not allowed to himself. Turk learns the baby's gender, which Cox shouldn't really know. Since Cox is not happy after the successful operation, Turk tells him. JD doesn't know that Kim lied to him.

Patient Brian Dancer has got a pretty physiotherapist to teach him how to write again. JD immediately falls in love with her, but doesn't dare to ask her out on a date. He's also lying to Brian for claiming he had something with her. Turk broke his arm while fooling around with JD and now has to wear a cast. Dr. So Kelso sent him to the inside, where he met Dr. Cox reports as an assistant doctor. He relentlessly shows him that apart from surgery, he has no idea about medicine. Soldier Brian Dancer is ready to be released. He's looking forward to getting back into the army. But then he suddenly falls into a coma. The doctors quickly discover that he has taken an overdose of pills because he is not allowed to return to the army that means his life. Elliot and JD try to influence him in a positive way, that life also has other beautiful sides and that you have to get up after a low blow. Dr. Cox has an argument with Carla because he no longer finds her jokes funny and the caretaker has to watch a goldfish for JD all the time until he puts it on the floor and the glass breaks afterwards. During this waiting period it turns out that the goldfish can speak to the caretaker and the reincarnation of Dr. Kelso's platoon leader at the time is Roger Dorsy, who died in Vietnam in his arms.

Elliot wants to admit a patient's dog to the hospital because she sees a positive outcome in recovery, but Dr. Kelso is against it. So she asks the caretaker for help with smuggling. Dr. Cox and sister Laverne have a dispute about “everything that happens has a reason”, which Laverne defends with her faith in God until a young girl is admitted with a stab wound. The examination reveals that she has a tumor that would never have been found without the knife attack. This is how Dr. Questioning Cox when news reached him that Laverne had an accident and is in a coma.

When she is declared brain dead and the machines are turned off, everyone at Laverne begins to say goodbye, except for Carla. But in the conversations with the ghost, she realizes that she also has to say goodbye so that Laverne can die.

Upon examination, it turns out that the son could hear through an implant, but his father is against it. Only with the help of Dr. Cox finds JD the solution to the problem.

At the abdication for Laverne, the pastor reminds that one should take time for oneself and show compassion. Dr. Cox begins to question himself and his work, Elliot realizes that she only has to say "I love you" to Keith to develop the relationship further and Turk has to admit to Carla that it is important that Laverne is not forgotten.

Ted finds out how he can help the nurses get more wages without Dr. Kelso's threatened layoffs can be carried out by showing courage and passing information to the nurses with which they were Dr. Blackmail Kelso. Jordan tries to torpedo Elliot and Keith's relationship, but fails because of their sudden feelings and has to apologize to Elliot. Turk complains to Dr. Cox about never giving him good operations like the other surgeons. So Cox starts a game with him about Lloyd, who is lying on the ward as a simulating patient. When Dr. Cox then says that Turk would not have operated on Lloyd for anything if he finds out that Turk set him up. Carla finds out that the caretaker haunts the pediatric ward as a ghost because he is bothered by the fact that the children always make everything dirty and he wants to scare them.

Keith proposed marriage to Elliot, but since the engagement ring doesn't fit, she has to say no. But it gives him a second chance once he has adjusted the ring. Turk hasn't had sex with Carla since Izzy was born, but she keeps telling him she isn't ready. JD tries to land with Melody, but she doesn't let him go any further than kissing without touching. The only thing that helps for everyone is a cold shower. Carla and Elliot both have an elderly patient and don't find out what's wrong with them until Dr. Cox makes a connection and diagnoses syphilis . At Keith's second marriage proposal, JD realizes that he's the only one alone and that he should be the one standing next to Elliot.

JD accompanies Turk to a medical congress in Phoenix. He meets his ex-girlfriend Kim and discovers that she lied to him when she told him she had a miscarriage. JD is overwhelmed with the situation and runs away from Kim. Dr. Kelso is with other chief medical officers at Congress and is known for always going overboard. Meanwhile, the caretaker takes over his job as chief physician at the Sacred Heart and makes a few unusual decisions. Back at the hospital, JD stands in front of Elliot and Kim, who has followed him, and is no longer sure of his feelings.

Carla is supposed to be the maid of honor and organize the hen party for Elliot. But soon it turns out that Elliot does not want to give up control and Carla keeps talking. Carla doesn't want to continue like this and Elliot has to choose. Finally, Carla finds a solution that Elliot can live with. JD learns that Kim's baby will be a boy, but he doesn't know if he can still trust her and if he wants to be with her again. Turk and Dr. Cox, both already fathers, have to explain to JD what kind of responsibility as a father he will now have. Now JD can make a decision.

Dr. Cox is still upset that JD is going to be his daughter's godfather. But his attempt to bribe JD fails. Only when he accepts Jordan's demands does she give in. Kim is living with JD again and the relationship seems to be working again. She even got an offer to go back to work at the Sacred Heart. Elliot continues planning her wedding to Keith, but panics because she is suddenly no longer sure if Keith is the right person. JD also has to rethink his situation with Kim. By chance, Elliot and JD meet in the ready room and start talking about their fears. In doing so, they come closer.

In the United States , the sixth season DVD was released on October 30, 2007. The DVD for the sixth season has been available in Germany since April 17, 2008.
