Life

Sebastian Krämer, the youngest son of a high school teacher and a grandson of Nicolai Hartmann on his mother's side , grew up in Kalletal in Lippe . At the Weser-Gymnasium Vlotho he received the Abitur . In 1991 and 1993 he successfully participated in the Young Authors Meeting and in 1992, 1993 and 1994 in the Young Music Scene Meeting . From 1992 to 1995 he performed his first cabaret programs in the Theatercafé Freiburg . In 1996, Krämer moved to Berlin , where he can now be seen regularly in the Scheinbar-Varieté, in the Zebrano Theater , in the Green Salon of the Volksbühne and on various reading stages. He was seen on television in comedy formats such as NightWash and was a guest in the cabaret programs Mitternachtsspitzen , Neues aus der Anstalt and Ottis Schlachthof .

At the German-language Poetry Slam Championships in 2001 and 2003, Krämer was able to win the individual competition. He held his own poetry slam in the Scheinbar-Varieté in Berlin for the first time in November 2002 and moderated it monthly together with Marco Tschirpke until February 2008 . In the same year, the duo Ars Flokati (Sebastian Krämer, Hagen Damwerth) was created under the direction of Richard Rogler and performed in the Cologne Senftöpfchen for three weeks . In 2003, Krämer won first prize in the chanson section of the national singing competition . In 2009 he was awarded the German Cabaret Prize in the music / song / chanson category in Mainz . In December 2009 he performed with Marco Tschirpke at the Arosa Humor Festival .

Krämer is also a role model for young people interested in poetry , who see from his example that male poets in particular can talk about feelings and that poetry, whose image has changed in the last few decades, can also be cheerful. When Krämer was still working in the area of poetry slam, he also showed the appeal of avant-garde art movements: that something new can always be invented and shown. For example, he once brought a laptop to a slam or organized team presentations. With all the emphasis on innovation, connections to tradition are also part of Krämer's work, for which the poetry slam “represents hope in the fight against the general decline in language”.

It is difficult to classify Krämer's work into a genre. His topics are not political, but also deal with everyday life. For example, he sings about the flair of Berlin in a hundred steps . He sees himself as a chansonnier in the songwriting tradition of Christof Stählin . He celebrated his 25th stage anniversary with delighted elegies .
