history

Place view

The first mention of Sattelin took place on June 15, 1352, when Winkler of Geiersberg the settlement to the Ossegger Abbot Francis I. sold. The place, which was laid out as a mining settlement, got its name from its location on the saddle between Ludersberg and Nitschenberg. Later the village was added to the royal castle Hněvín and sold with this to the town of Brüx in 1595 . In 1640 Zettl was pastorized from Obergeorgenthal . On July 16, 1666, Johann Friedrich von Waldstein acquired the village and joined it to his rule Dux . In 1680 he raised the lordships of Dux and Oberleutensdorf to the family entourage . In the course of time the place was also called Sattelein , Sattel or Zettel . After the decline of mining, the inhabitants lived on agriculture and forestry. Some were day laborers . From the 19th century many worked in the textile factories in Oberleutensdorf or in coal mining in Brüx . Zettl was one of the villages that did not expand significantly after the Hussite era . In 1831 Zettel consisted of eleven houses with 73 German-speaking residents. Parish was Ober-Leitensdorf . Until the middle of the 19th century, Zettel remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Dux.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Zettl / Cetl 1850 a district of the market town, 1852 City Oberleutensdorf in Leitmeritzer county and judicial district Brüx. From 1868 the village belonged to the Brüx district . In 1876 Zettl broke away from Oberleutensdorf and became a district of Göhren . From 1905 Zettl belonged to the newly formed judicial district of Oberleutensdorf. The Czech place name Sedlo was introduced in 1924. As a result of the Munich Agreement , the village was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the district of Brüx until 1945 . After the end of World War II, Sedlo came back to Czechoslovakia and the German-Bohemian population was expelled . In 1948 Sedlo was assigned to the Okres Litvínov, since its abolition in 1961 Sedlo has belonged again to the Okres Most . In the last quarter of the 20th century, people increasingly moved to the well-developed urban area of Litvínov at the foot of the mountain or to the new planned town of Meziboří. During this time Sedlo became a recreation area made up of holiday homes, and a cottage area was built on the western edge of the village.
