history

The lumberjack settlement on Göhrener Steig belonging to the Dux lordship was first mentioned in a document in 1583. In 1642 the Counts of Waldstein inherited the rule. In 1680 Johann Friedrich von Waldstein raised the lordships of Dux and Oberleutensdorf to a family affide . In 1715 Oberdorf consisted of 19 properties. When house numbering was introduced in 1787, 16 houses were counted in the mountain village.

In 1831 Oberdorf consisted of 18 houses with 106 German-speaking residents. Parish was Ober-Leitensdorf . Until the middle of the 19th century, Oberdorf remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Dux.

After the abolition of patrimonial Oberdorf formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Oberleutensdorf in the Leitmeritz district and judicial district of Dux. From 1868 the village belonged to the Brüx district . The industrial boom and the associated population explosion in the neighboring North Bohemian Basin at the end of the 19th century did not affect Oberdorf; Because of the remoteness, the number of inhabitants even declined. The residents lived from logging and did some agriculture, especially meadow farming and fruit growing. Since 1905 the village belonged to the newly formed judicial district Oberleutensdorf. Between 1910 and 1914 the dam of the town of Brüx was built in the west of the Hammerbach valley . From 1913 Oberdorf belonged as a district to the municipality of Rauschengrund . As a result of the Munich Agreement , the village was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the district of Brüx until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War, Horní Ves returned to Czechoslovakia and the German-Bohemian population was expelled . Together with Šumná, Horní Ves was incorporated into Horní Litvínov in 1947.
