Semenivka

Semeniwka ( Ukrainian Семенівка , Russian Семёновка Semjonowka ) is an urban-type settlement in the central Ukrainian Poltava Oblast . It is the center of the Rajon of the same name . The place is named after Semen, one of the sons of the Ukrainian nobleman Rodsianko. The place emerged in the 16th century from a horse post station. The village of Tarasivka ( Тарасівка ) also belongs to the settlement council .

Economy and Transport

In economic terms, the focus is on the food industry, especially sugar production. Semeniwka is on the Kremenchuk - Romodan - Russia railway line .
