Opischnja ( Ukrainian Опішня ; Russian Опошня Oposchnja ) is an urban-type in Rayon Sinkiv the central Ukraine oblast Poltawa . It is located above the right bank of the Worskla River .
history
In 1658 the place was badly destroyed in the course of a Cossack uprising. As early as 1786, 200 potters were working in the place .
Infrastructure and economy
The settlement council municipality is divided into the place itself and the six surrounding villages Wasky ( Васьки ) Wilchowe ( Вільхове ) Dibrova ( Діброва ) Karabasiwka ( Карабазівка ) Miski Mlyny ( Міські Млини ) and Jablutschne ( Яблучне ). Opischnja is known nationwide for its traditional pottery . The Ukrainian National Museum of Ceramic Art and a Research Institute of Ceramics are located in Opizhnya . The place is on the regional road P-17 between Poltava and Ochtyrka or Sumy .
