Koselschtschyna ( Ukrainian Козельщина , Russian Козельщина Koselschtschina ) is an urban-type settlement and the administrative center of the raion of the same name in the south of Poltava Oblast , Ukraine with about 3,600 inhabitants (2019).

Koselschtschyna was founded in 1718 and has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1938. The village is located on the Borschtschi – Kharkiv railway and the M 22 trunk road between the Poltava oblast center in the north-east and the city of Kremenchuk, 41 km to the south-west .

Koselschtschyna is the administrative seat of the Rajons of the same name, founded in 1923. The Koselschtschyna Rajon is located in the south of the Poltava Oblast and has 20,200 inhabitants and an area of ​​927 km². The population density is 23 inhabitants per km².
