Sepp Wiegand (born January 9, 1991 in Schlema ) is a German rally driver .

Career

Sepp Wiegand, who grew up and lives in Zwönitz , started riding a motorcycle when he was seven. He drove motocross and enduro . In 2009 he finished seventh with the German junior team in the international six-day race .

In 2010, the trained automotive mechatronics technician switched to rallying and immediately achieved 4 class victories in regional rallies. After winning the ADAC Rallye Junior Cup in 2011 and gaining his first international experience as part of the WRC Academy , he competed for Škoda Auto Deutschland in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2012 , which he finished in 4th place overall. In 2013 he also took part in the World Rally Championship in the WRC 2 class for Škoda , while in 2014 he competed in the European Rally Championship . Here he achieved his greatest success so far with 4 podium placements and winning the runner-up title.

Sepp Wiegand's older sister Tina Wiegand has also been active in rallying since 2001 .
