Intercontinental Rally Challenge 2012
The 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge was the seventh season of the IRC . The season started on February 23rd with the Sata Rallye Açores and ended on November 3rd with the Cyprus Rally .
Racing calendar
The racing calendar has been changed significantly compared to the previous season. The Monte Carlo Rally and the Scotland Rally were no longer part of the racing calendar . There were four new events in Northern Ireland, San Marino, Romania and Bulgaria. The total number of events increased from eleven to 13.
Later in the season it was announced that the Canon Mecsek Rally in Hungary would be replaced by the Targa Florio in Sicily.

Results
1 The Targa Florio-Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia was abandoned after the eighth of eleven special stages after Gareth Roberts , the co-driver of Craig Breen , was killed in a serious accident.
2 Laszlo Vizin took third place in the Prime Yalta Rally but did not receive any points.
3 Igtnat Isaev took third place in the Rally Sliven but was not included in the overall standings in the IRC. The points for third place therefore went to Krum Donchev
Overall rating
Points were awarded to the top ten drivers according to the official FIA standard.

Driver ranking
Only the best eight individual results of each driver were included in the driver standings. At the last race of the season, the Rally Cyprus , double points were awarded.
