Sergei Michailowitsch Puschkow ( Russian Сергей Михайлович Пушков ; born February 25, 1964 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach .

Career

Sergei Pushkov began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in Ischorez Leningrad , for which he was active from 1984 to 1988 in the Pervaya League , the second Soviet division. The 1989/90 season spent the center at TuTo Hockey in the second Finnish division, the I-divisioona . From 1992 to 1994 he ran for the SKA Saint Petersburg in the International Hockey League .

In the 1994/95 season , the Russian played for Brynäs IF in the Swedish Elitserien and was runner-up with his team. The following season he was committed by the Spektrum Flyers from the Norwegian Eliteserien , but returned shortly before the play-offs for SKA Saint Petersburg in the International Hockey League.

From 1996 to 1998 he was on the ice for Vålerenga IF , with whom he won the Norwegian championship title in the 1997/98 season and was runner-up in 1997. Another year and a half followed in Norway with the Storhamar Dragons (runner-up in 1999) and Frisk Asker , before he started his active career at the age of 36 at HK Spartak Saint Petersburg from the second Russian division, the Wysschaja Liga , during the 1999/2000 season Years ended.

International

For Russia , Pushkov took part in the 1993 World Cup, where he and his team won the gold medal.

Pushkov began his coaching career at Frisk Asker , where he was employed as a U19 junior coach . During this time he completed a game in the U19 league of Norway in the 2002/03 season.

From 2006 to 2010, Pushkov was the head coach at Chimik-SKA Navapolazk from the Belarusian extra league . At the U18 Junior World Championship 2009 of Division IA , he was the head coach of the U18 junior team in Belarus, and with them managed to return to the top division.

Between 2011 and 2013 he was the responsible trainer for the Green IL from the 1st divisjon , the second Norwegian division. In the first half of the 2013/14 season he was the coach of Tønsberg Vikings , then returned to Belarus and took over the coaching position at HK Njoman Hrodna . Before the 2014/15 season he was hired as assistant coach by HK WMF Karelija from the Wysschaja Hockey League and promoted to head coach on October 31, 2014. For the 2015/16 season, the club moved back to Saint Petersburg and was renamed SKA-Neva .

Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Pushkov has been head coach at Nyoman Hrodna again and won the Belarusian championship with him in 2017 and 2018.

During the current men's 2018 World Cup , he took over the post of Belarusian national coach from Dave Lewis on May 8, 2018 .
